SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

WE OFFER A HAND UP, NOT A HAND OUT

EDUCATION

  • We work with orginizarions like Cooperative for Education, that believes that all humans are born with abundant potential and that we are destined to become creators, healers, innovators, builders, educators, and that we yearn to leave the world better than we found it. However, they have found that in Guatamela, a child is often born into the generational cycle of poverty and is too often stripped of this destiny. They believe that every child, no matter where they are born and regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to determine their own story. That’s where education comes in. Education is about justice. Where poverty robs us of opportunities, education gives them back. Education levels the playing field. Education opens doors. They have a vision of a Guatemala transformed through education: a future in which every Guatemalan child learns to read and graduates high school with the skills they need to thrive. Is this a tall order? Yes. But is it possible? Absolutely. Because they know that when we empower young people with the opportunities to rise out of poverty, not only will they determine their own stories, they will shape the destiny of their country.

water projects

  • We join groups like Asociación Pozos Agua Viva (ASOCAVIVA), an organization based on faith and Christian principles. Their main goal is to provide safe drinking water to remote areas in Guatemala and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. ASOCAVIVA was founded in 2019, but with their staff's experience and long drilling career, they can guarantee 100% quality in every single one of their projects. ASOCAVIVA drills water wells and tries to improve the lifestyle and health of the communities they visit. They do this by sharing our Health and Hygiene program, including basic personal hygiene and water preservation. They encourage people to build a closer relationship with God throughout their lessons. Building relationships, sharing the gospel, drilling, and teaching are all part of your experience when you join their team.

community development

  • We visit Amextra, whose vision is to promote the integral transformation of marginalized communities in Mexico. Amextra is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable change processes, accompanying community leaders and promoting local participation. This work transforms living conditions in marginalized communities, with values of service, compassion, and justice. During your trip, you’ll work to help assist them in one or more of their programs in the areas of health and nutrition, artisanal crafts, education, Eco-technologies, and more!

AGRICULTURE

  • Visit and work with Bean Voyage, an organization creating thriving businesses with smallholder women coffee famers. Bean Voyage’s volunteer programs are unique in that they are focused on developing inter-departmental skills among volunteers and help them engage in a variety of projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Visit Grupo Promesa, whose environmental education programs range from recycling and waste management to training cleaning staff. Whether in a company, school or home, they have a program tailored to their needs and capable of reducing their impact on the environment.
